Casey

Breed: Border Collie
Handler: Nancy Chauncey

You know the type of person who seems to always attract trouble? Enter the canine version, Miss Casey Chauncey. Parvo pup and teenage rattlesnake bite survivor---the life of Cuckoo Casey was off to a rough start. Oh, there were the good times--- like finishing at the top of her obedience and flyball classes. She really thought she had made it big when she landed her first modeling job, getting her mug featured on a box of Trader Joe's Dog Treats.

But when you have the words written across your Border Collie brow that say, come and get me---- well, that's exactly what ends up happening! After a few crashes on the flyball course from other dogs crossing over, Casey needed to take a mental break from flyball competitions amounting to over 1 year off. Meanwhile she continued to train and was cuckoo as can be, to still wow crowds at performances for NBA and WNBA half-times all over the state of California.

Now at age 8, Casey boasts being one of the most solid running dogs of the Mutts, ending 2007 as the highest U-FLI point earner in the club. When she isn't busy digging up gophers at MoonChant Ranch, running the lake with sister, Toby, or being herded by her young brother, Finnegan, she awaits not so patiently for her next job. As soon as she spies her Mom wearing the white performance pants, Casey begins barking non-stop with anticipation. Oh goodie, time for more fun --- it's Showtime!
